The ideal candidate is called to the bar and has at least 1+ years of relevant experience in technology and intellectual property law Melissa joined Sun Life in 2014 with extensive experience spanning private practice, regulation and in-house roles. Prior to joining Sun Life, she was Senior Vice-President, General Counsel and Corporate Affairs at the Ontario Teachers` Pension Plan, one of Canada`s largest pension funds. Melissa began her career in private practice and then held the positions of Enforcement Team Leader at the Ontario Securities Commission and Vice-President, Assistant General Counsel at a major Canadian bank. Knowledge of data protection law in the context of a regulated industry is an asset.
